Mickey Rourke as Whiplash in IronMan 2

A new image has been released showing the new bad guy from the Ironman sequel out next year. It features Mickey Rourke as the Russion villan Whiplash. Now, in the comics, Whiplash was not Russian. Or a man. That’s right – Whiplash was supposed to be a woman!
I have to admit that I really don’t think much of Mickey Rourke. I know I could be one of the few who doesn’t think he is a very good actor so him, combined with the Whiplash character being a woman, sorry, I mean man, this film is going to have to convince me to watch it. It’s a shame as I really liked Ironman when it came out.
On to the picture, you can see that Whiplash somehow has gotten his greasy mits on a Mark 1 style Ironman suit somehow, as well as the chest piece ARC reactor. You can see just above his wrists, the beginnings of a pair of whips, which I assume are connected to power of some discription.
So even if these things are powered, am I right in thinking that Ironman needs only to hover a few meters in the air and then just shoot Whiplash with a missle? Not the best bad guy really is he?
Oh well, maybe more development will come, just like the Ironman suit?

Even though Iron Man 2 is still a long way off, this is one of those films that is going to continue to gather momentum until the day it is release.
I loved Iron man, thought it was absolutely brilliant. I liked the way that Robert Downey Jr managed to bring just the right amount of cheekiness to Tony Stark and while I am a bit of a comic book fan, the wife really enjoyed the movie as well! (though I did have to go and see Mamma Mia to make up for it).
This is the first decent image that I have certainly come across showing anything at all from the sequel Iron Man 2.
Is that a whole row of Mark 3 suits behind Tony Stark??
