”V” TV Pilot Preview
Jul6
So, another year and another 80’s TV show is due for a remake. Do you remember V? I should introduce this as a new identity initiative, if you remember 80s TV the first time round, then you are very much over the age of 18. I’m still reeling when someone I worked with asked what the fuss was all about when the first Transformers movie came out, she didn’t know it was born out of a 20+ year old cartoon. Anyway I digress…
V – for those of you who may not know (and I had to look it up to remind myself on Wiki so don’t be ashamed), premiered in 1984 and featured a race of advanced, human looking aliens coming to Earth offering peace and prosperity. Obviously, there was a twist and before you knew it, it turns out that the aliens are actually reptile-esque humanoids who want to dominate the human race while eating the odd live rat from time to time (sorry to put you off your lunch!) As with Starsky & Hutch, Charlie’s Angels and Knight Rider before it, the series has been reborn for the 21st Century…
Below is the new premier which seems to have snuck onto the world stage, well YouTube at least with a minimal of publicity. Featuring Juliette from LOST (what she does for a living isn’t really clear) and a selection of other TV actors (the bloke from the 4400 and even the less successful actor brother from A Party of Five – but don’t quote me on that!). It certainly looks good though the start reminded me of Independence Day SOO much that I was expecting Will Smith to pop up smoking a cigar.
Due for an early 2010 release, this new show will go toe to toe with the final series of LOST – good luck with that one fellas!
Anyway – sit back, relax and enjoy! I’d like to know what you think…
